About
Work: I am a German-British Associate Professor of Social Clinical Psychology and Lead of the Research Centre for Mental Health at the University of Greenwich in London, as well as a Senior Research Fellow in Health Psychology at the University of Vienna. I have 16+ years of international experience in research, teaching, and leadership, and was an invited visiting scholar at leading universities across 6 countries in Europe. My research addresses how societies respond to diversity in the context of global challenges - such as migration, stigma, loneliness, infectious diseases, women's health, political polarization, and climate change - and their effects on health and wellbeing. I have authored 35 scientific articles in leading international journals (h-index 22), book chapters, and articles to lay audience in my role as science communicator. I regularly speak at international conferences and institutions. I have built academic and non-academic (e.g. NHS, charities) partnerships in 10+ countries, secured competitive funding, and led applied research projects in hospitals, schools, charities and treatment centres. I am experienced in empathic communication with students, study participants, patients, and families, and supported hospitals as a volunteer during the COVID-19 pandemic.
